BG Authors was founded out of a desire to display just how many talented writers have come out of BGSU and the Northwest Ohio area. Authors such as Pulitzer Prize winner Anthony Doerr, American Book Award winner Carolyn Forché, Emmy-award winner Beth Macy, Flannery O’Connor Award for Short Fiction winner Susan Neville, and many more have all come out BGSU and written these amazing works that are loved and appreciated by many. Not only do we want to recognize the achievements and talents of these many authors through writing biographical articles, reviewing their books and more, but we also strive to create a space for people to share their own thoughts on the literature they read both in writing on this website and in organized events. Our on-campus student group meets weekly to foster this community of bibliophiles.

BGSU Authors is part of the BG Falcon Media organization that includes The BG News student newspaper, the BG24 weekly video newscast, student-run Falcon Radio, Northwest Ohio’s Community Radio Station WBGU-FM, the Falcon Media Sports Network including BGRSO (Bowling Green Radio Sports Organization), Falcon Communications, The Key magazine, the Best of BG magazine and website, the BG Rentals website, the BGSU History website, and BG Falcon Media’s social media platforms (check us out at BGFalconMedia).
