With spooky season in full swing, there are quite a few types of books to get you in the spooky spirit, including multi-book series one can find themselves enthralled with. Though my personal favorite series about witches and wizards will forever be the Harry Potter series, there are quite a few different series out there that follow the stories of witches and wizards in other literary universes.

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire
Recommended by Molly Walsh

Many people know the Broadway show entitled “Wicked”. Before it became this hit show, Wicked was a book by Gregory Maguire. Maguire chronicles the story of Elphaba, the green girl who grows up to be the Wicked Witch of the West that many people know from the Wizard of Oz. It provides commentary on the nature of good and evil through the five different sections that show off times in Elphaba’s life.
