A classic whodunnit that keeps you guessing till the very end. With twelve characters to read varying points of view from, there is always something happening to leave you wondering what is going on.
This book was published in 2018 with its genre being a mystery thriller. The story starts with Reily and Gwen on their way to a mountain hotel getaway. However, as soon as they get there a snowstorm traps them and ten other guests at the hotel. They all do their best to stay comfortable as help won’t be able to reach them for a couple of days. Things take a turn when one of the guests dies. After confirming it’s not an accident the others frantically try to figure out who did it before they suffer the same fate.
This story is written in a way where you will read from the point of view of all twelve guests at the hotel. There is always something happening to leave you wondering what is going on. You learn about all the relationships that each character forms. “She casts a furtive glance at the woman named Riley, who hasn’t said a word. She wonders what’s up with her. Something about her definitely seems off.” Who trusts who? What do they have to hide?
You are always jumping to different POVs as you read. It would be best described as you are reading a movie in the form of a book. It can be pretty confusing at times, but it adds to the idea of keeping you guessing.
